1973-S Business Ike - Anomaly?

Post by FS-801 » Wed Jul 18, 2018 9:35 pm

I've got this 1973-S business strike Ike that is in super pristine condition. However, in and around the "O" of ONE on the reverse there is some kind of something going on. Looking at it in hand, the marks appear to be incuse. Is this just some crazy localized damage or could it be something like die rust artifact? I have a Morgan with a "pitted" reverse, and it looks similar to this. Thoughts?

Looks like struck through something. Big enough area as to warrant an error label. Not too many Blue Pack Ike errors out there!
Good score!
Happy Hunting!
