Way cool, Troy!

I purchased some of Troy's hoard cast-offs just for the heck of it. Among the 100 that I bought:
1 1976 proof planchet
6 double dies- 1 71D, 1 72D, 4 72
4 peg legs - 2 71D, 1 72D, 1 74d
1 potential 71D D/D RPM
3 toners
12 clashed, including a 71D UDU, and the finest UDU I've ever seen - on a 72 T3

It was a fun search. I'll probably do it again.

Lots of folks were asking about the results, so I went back and grabbed a talley. We only looked for 1972 Type 2s. We found 48 in 47,000 coins. Here is how they graded:

Raw Type 2's = 11
Genuine Unc = 1
AU55 = 6
AU58 = 3
MS61 = 4
MS62 = 5
MS63 = 8
MS64 = 5
MS65 = 1
4 - Still to be graded

In the 47,000 coin lot, one bag was Brilliant Unc 1972-D. We graded a bunch of those coins mostly MS65 and a few MS66.

My bank here in California will no longer order IKE's for me.
