Found a good specimen of a 1972-D with the stronger DDO-OO1 and weaker DDR-OO2, a "minor" DDR..(no heavy notching on either S's in STATES, as on DDR-OO!, but, Light spread on all letters and stars around rim, and on earth, a tad washed out, but still visible, as pictured in the Wiles Book)...I'm curious about this die marriage, as almost all my 72-D Doubled Dies have been 1/1's, or DDO-OO1, no doubling reverse, or, DDR-OO1, no doubling obverse.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

I have a bunch of 72D double dies, along with a bunch of my own, making maybe 100 examples to study (including MMP) when I can get to it. Just like the 1SB-301 group, I have a hunch that the 2D-301 will end up a multi-member group.
