1974-D DDR ??

Post by wygold » Sat Feb 21, 2015 8:46 am

Okay guys here's another coin that I think has a double die reverse, 1974-D. I cannot find anything on both iddd and IkeGroup. The one on iddd has one DDR and a DDO. my coin doesn't show anything on the obverse as far as any doubling or tripling. the reverse can see doubling on the word dollar and very good doubling in the letter "R". the word One shows little doubling on the letter "E". Any thoughts?

That's good old ejection/machine doubling. This is very common on Ikes, especially the earlier years. Sorry about that, no DDR. Whenever you have a flat/squared-off shelf effect like that, you might as well move on.

Pretty extensive none the less. 74 doesn't tend to exhibit nearly as much machine doubling as 71 or 72 Ikes.

well that's good to know. I thought it was kinda weird when I couldn't find anything on it. Oh well next time. At least I know for sure that I have one DDO FS-103 and the other one I'll have to have Tom Kalantzis take a look when I can get around to it in the near future.
