Got another 1971-S BS FPL Ike today...
I bought a roll of 20 from feeBay and cracked it open. Mostly lower BU stuff nothing of any real note except another FPL.
I noticed the valley under the "R" and the weak left side of the "Y" before I even picked up my loupe. I am guessing this one is MS63.
I may not continue to report my finds unless it is something new as I am starting to doubt my own credibility based upon how lucky I have been lately.

This one has multiple heavy contact marks. The obverse has a hard hit across the "R" and "Y", hard hit to field below the "Y", hard hit right of the "I", hard hit above "IN GOD", hard hit lower back of neck and forehead. The reverse has a hard hit to eagle's neck and one in field left of eagle's wing.

Boy, That sure looks like a SPL to me. But Rob and the others are the experts.

Its just the angle of the scan.
The "T" and "Y" markers show its FPL.

Somedunce, right on! And a great example of an FPL peg leg that looks like a SPL peg leg that has been down-sized through die abrasion/re-frosting treatments. This is an obverse die that has not been abraded and re-frosted so the peg leg is quite full.
Nice demonstration of the overlap between SPL and FPL peg leg and why the markers Y and T on the FPL are just that.
WAY TO GO!!! (but leave some for me, pretty please. . .)

Now is the time to cherry Ikes. Lots of fruit still on the trees but don't wait too long. Rob Ezerman
