FEV Abraded Peg Legs....

Post by BrianVaile » Wed Jul 22, 2009 5:42 pm

Post em' if you have them! Should also come with an abraded TH. There are not many of these
out there....maybe 1 out of every 100 FEV's? Found this one today in an NGC 64 holder.
Didn't even know I had it!

I thought that I would reactivate Brian's 2009 post.

What is the estimated population of FEV die abrasion ped legs?
Anyone else have one beside Brian?
What is the highest TPG held by the group?

Thanks for re-visiting this thread, Randy. I crossed your ANACS FEV peg leg to PCGS and received AU58 on it as well: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/CoinFac ... 6810&sid=0

There other FEV peg leg that I acquired from you is at PCGS right now.

I also have one or two "near" peg leg FEVs. When I get the one back from PCGS, I'll do MMP on all of them. (I'm currently working on the Type 2 71D peg legs)

That will be part of a larger FEV MMP project. Not sure how many obverse dies were paired with FEV reverses. If the average production of a reverse die in 1971 was about 120,000, and the Ike group is predicting 250,000-500,000 FEVs, that means only 4 reverse dies max (of which, two were DDR?). It seems that something doesn't add up.

Got back the FEV peg leg that I sent to PCGS. MS 63. MMP placement work coming - will post when done.

How did they handle the FEV part of this? Did you have to pay extra for the attribution? Did they use the Type 1 designation?

Yes, attribution fees added. No Type 1, just the usual FEV FS-901 holder.
