1D2-201.1 and 201.2

Post by KLFenstermaker »

Help, please. I have a couple of Type 2 Peg Legs, trying to determine which variety as per the DIVa checklist, which lists 201.1 and 201.2. There is no write-up on either in the attribution lists, and couldn't find a discussion anywhere else in the forum.

?? Nothing makes sense. You have a 72 Type 2 that exhibits a peg leg? The DIVa numbers you list don't exist...

Andy,, sorry for the mix up. Type 1 RDV, Type 3 Obv. But not the 1D1-201, no heavy flow lines on crater, brow points more towards the crown of the head. As per the types don't exist, here is what I based those numbers on, from the Ike Group web site. Is there a different Peg Leg number for the non-FEV variety?

So, what do you have? A 71D peg leg?

There are MANY 71D Peg legs. This is one of the more common issues for peg legs. We purposely did not give any DIVa numbers for these, due to the commonality and the enormous task it would be to catalog them all. This is not to say we won't, but, it' not a hot topic at the moment. While I wouldn't spend them, I wouldn't pay big bucks. 74D and 78D Peg Leg thus far seem to be a little more cut and dry. Likewise with 76D T2.

Peg Legs are indeed synonymous with Ikes. I suspect we'll be tackling these within the next couple years. We've estimated something like 20+ different 71D peg legs based on die pairings, etc.

I also really like the 72-D Peg Leg and Amputee R DIVAs! :D.
The 72-D is very tough in High grade and the Amputee is tough to find in any grade.

Happy Hunting!

I have at least 8 different 1D2-200 series obverses documented by MM and other markers. I put the project down for a long while, but will pick it back up, so that we can catalogue the various 1D2-200s.

OTOH, there is only one 1D1-201
